The Honi Soit Collection

Royal chinaware inspired by a service made in c1820 for the Duke of Clarence (later William IV). Part of the service was presented as a wedding gift to The Duke and Duchess of York (later George V and Queen Mary) by the Royal Warrant holders in 1893. The ducal coronet and lion on the centre are encircled by the motto of the Order of the Garter 'Honi Soit Qui Mal y Pense' ('Evil Be Unto Him Who Evil Thinks').
